October 25, 2008: Movies Under the Stars is sponsored by the City of Oceanside’s Parks and Recreations Division. A free showing of the movie “E.T.” will be shown at the Pier Amphitheater from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
October 26, 2008: A fundraiser consisting of live entertainment and food and product vendors at the NCHS & SPCA dog park on San Luis Rey Road and Jones St from 11am to 4pm.
November 2, 2008: Oceanside has a large Halloween/Day of the Dead celebration held every year on or about the weekend nearest November 1st with carnival rides, street vendors and musicians. The 8th Annual Street Festival is held on Main Street, Oceanside from 10am to 4pm on Pier View Way at Coast Highway. Admission is Free. Website: http://www.msoceanside.com/
November 2, 2008: The city of Oceanside is offering its 2nd annual Parent Child bowling tournament. Everyone is welcome to attend. The tournament is geared towards youth ages 5 to 17. The rules: The combines score of the Parent and Child after 2 games will determine the winner in each age division. Prizes will be awarded to everyone! Only $15 for 2 games and shoes per person. November 15, 2008: Small regional surfing event for local kids at the South Harbor Jetty from 7:30am to 5pm. There is no charge to enter. (949) 646-2175 x 6302 Sponsored by Volcom.
November 27, 2008: “Move Your Feet Before You Eat!”. Registration has opened for the 2008, 3rd annual Tureky Trot. The 3rd annual O’side Turkey Trot benefits the Oceanside Schools, the Move Your Feet Before You Eat! Foundation and Virginia Ann Scheunemann Memorial Fund. Over the past 2 years, the event has raised more than $30,000 for Oceanside schools and the Move Your Feet Before You Eat Foundation facilitated the donation of 180 NIKE shoes to the Middle Schools in 2007! December 4 , 2008: Join the city of Oceanside and MainStreet Oceanside to celebrate the official tree lighting ceremony. There will kids’ crafts, hot cocoa and lost more holiday fun in Downwton Regal Cinema Plaza at 6:00pm.
December 13, 2008: Parade of Christmas decorated boats in the Parade of Lights will be held from 6pm to 9am in the Oceanside Harbor and Oceanside Yacht Club. (760) 722-5751
December 14, 2008: Winter ball for everyone over the age of 55. Hosted by the City of Oceanside’s Senior Center, will be held from 7pm to 10pm at the Beach Recreation Center. Music will be Jay Wimmer and the Big Bad All Starts. Light refreshments and door prizes will be available. Tickets are $10 if purchased in advance at the senior center located at 455 Country Club Lane. TIckets are $12 at the door. (760) 435-5250
December 28, 2008: Kehilat Ariel Messianic Synagogue presents a Hanukkah Celebration at the Pier Amphitheater from 3pm to 5pm. Event will feature Jewish music, Israeli folkdance and teachings about the Hanukkah holiday. (858) 490-4355.
